Dogs come in different shapes and sizes. Regardless of their breed, canines can brighten your day. Especially with calm and gentle pups, they can surely take up the challenge of working and giving extra comfort to those in need.
Norbert, a Chihuahua, Cairn Terrier, and Lhasa Apso mix, is a small furry friend who never fails to make everyone he meets fall in love with him. The three-pound dog always wears a goofy and cute smile with his tongue out, making him more adorable.
Julie Steines, Norbert’s hooman, instantly found the pooch charming when they first met. She has wanted a dog for a very long time, and she was sure that Norbert was the one. Little did she know that her fur baby was the little ball of sunshine that would change her life forever.
When they were still living in Boston, a stranger from a store had suggested that Norbert’s calm behavior would make him a great therapy dog. This idea stuck with Julie, so she researched about it and loved the idea of her pup giving comfort to people who need it. After a while, Norbert got officially certified!
The small doggo has been doing many volunteer work at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. They would visit patients to make their day a little brighter. Norbert also visits nursing homes and charity events. Regardless of age group, everyone seemed to love the little pupper!
Besides helping other people, Norbert has also had a huge impact on his hooman’s life. Julie’s childhood dream was to write a children’s book together with her mom. This all came true when she realized that they could write about Norbert’s story.
With Julie’s success with her volunteer work and book series, she was for an interview on a show called Home & Family, hosted by Mark Steines. The humans seemed to connect well, and soon enough, they started dating. A little while longer, they finally got married.
All thanks to little Norbert, his fur mom’s dream of publishing a book came true, and she met the love of her life. Without even realizing it, this doggo has helped a lot of people in different ways. He may be a tiny dog, but he sure has a very big heart.
