Timmy was next in line for euthanasia in a local animal shelter when a non-profit organization rescued him. Meanwhile, a woman saw Timmy’s profile online and wanted to gift him to her grandmother. But how does Timmy go from Texas to Michigan? Well, with the help of good Samaritans, of course.
Saving Timmy
Timmy went through so much in life. Earlier this year, Timmy was hit by a car. He sustained injuries to his pelvis as well as some head fractures that caused severe pain. On top of that, Timmy was also heartworm positive.
Due to Timmy’s condition, the shelter decided to put him on the euthanasia list. Fortunately, a non-profit organization called Camo rescued Timmy and placed him in foster care.
Timmy’s foster mom, Diana Acres, gave him a home for a couple of weeks. She also trained Timmy with a few tricks and helped him heal from his injuries.
When Timmy was fully-recovered, Diana thought it was time the pooch finds his new loving home. So she posted his profile on the internet, hoping to catch the attention of Timmy’s future family.
Timmy meets Nana
Back in Michigan, a woman named Amber saw Timmy’s photo online and fell in love. She wanted to co-adopt Timmy with her grandmother, Sallie Farrell. Sallie lost her husband ten years ago. Then her dog passed away last year.
Amber wanted to find a replacement dog, and Timmy was the perfect candidate. When the adoption process started rolling in, Amber was faced with this dilemma: how does Timmy travel from Texas to Michigan during a pandemic?
Diana, Timmy’s foster mom, reached out to media reporter, Melissa Correa, to ask whether Southwest Air could bring Timmy to his new family. In a few hours, the airlines responded and said they’d be more than willing to make that special flight for Timmy.
Southwest Air went out and beyond in giving Timmy a memorable flight. Its staff held welcome signages for Timmy. They gave the pup a special tour to the cockpit and treated him like a VIP.
The plane soon landed in Michigan, and there was Nana, waiting for her new baby. Nana gave Timmy a loving kiss as a welcome greeting. Nana held Timmy adoringly. Her voice broke a little while calling Timmy a “sweetheart.” There’s too much emotion in this first meeting, but we can see that it’s 100% happiness.
Timmy is finally home. Watch Timmy’s journey towards Nana’s loving arms in the video below.
