Chloe Bonnell, a teacher in Tallahassee, Florida, owns probably the most loyal dog ever and even the delivery man who drives by their house every day says the same. The dog named Atlas just patiently waits all day at his spot by the window, waiting for his mom to come home. He is never bothered by anyone, not even the delivery man who drops packages at their home.
Chloe adopted Atlas earlier this year after a friend sent her a message on Facebook about an abandoned litter of puppies. At first, Chloe was hesitant to take the responsibility of being a fur mom as she knew that it would definitely be challenging. But when she finally met Atlas, all of those doubts and fears went away.
Atlas never shied away from Chloe, he came right up to her the moment he saw her and he wouldn’t let her leave. There and then, Chloe knew that the pup had chosen her and it was as if God had planned for it to happen as well. As it turned out, Atlas became Chloe’s saving grace throughout the pandemic and the stressful virtual teaching.
But when schools finally reopened, Chloe felt a bit worried for Atlas especially because he was a very rambunctious pup who always loved to play. She didn’t know if he would experience separation anxiety and how he would react to it. But to her surprise, Atlas was very well-behaved and he did not chew or destroy anything in the house while his mom was away.
In fact, according to the UPS delivery man who always drove around their neighborhood, Atlas didn’t really move from his spot by the window. And not even once did he bark at him when he dropped a package at Chloe’s front door, unlike other dogs. He just simply sat by there and waited patiently for Chloe to come home.
