Fahrudin Caki Bravo of Saving Stray Animals in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina received a video of two puppies that needed urgent help. They were inside a condemned property outside town. They cried and whined relentlessly and hoped that someone with a kind heart would hear them.
The little ones spent two days in the abandoned house while there was a heavy snowstorm. They tried their best to keep one another warm, but no animal would last that long while exposed to extreme cold.
Instead of calling for help, neighbors that heard the puppies contacted dog catchers. They wanted them gone because of the noise they made. They didn’t care if the catchers would butcher them, they simply wanted them out of their neighborhood.
Fortunately, a Good Samaritan spotted the puppies. He reached out to Caki’s organization and asked them to come as soon as they could. So the following day, once the sun was up, Caki drove straight to the location provided by the kind man.
When the rescuer made it onsite, he quickly started searching. He hoped the dog catchers haven’t responded, but he still feared for the puppies’ safety. There was a lot of debris everywhere, and the place wasn’t ideal for them to live.
After a short while, Caki found the puppies. The siblings hid under a huge slab of cement. They looked horrified and they screamed when the rescuer tried to reach them. But soon enough, they realized he was there to help them.
Caki estimated the sister puppies to be a month and a half old. They both looked gorgeous, and they ate well. They still felt a little frightened but they soon overcame their fears and trusted their rescuer.
Named Haidi and Phoebe, later on, the puppies grew bigger as days passed. They were so friendly and lovely, and Caki believed it won’t take long before they find their happy endings. And two months later, they did.
A loving family saw Haidi and Phoebe’s story on social media and they were instantly smitten. They made arrangements and soon, the siblings were on their way to their new home. They began a new life in Switzerland with their forever family.
