Losing our pets is not as easy as it may seem, as the bond that we share with them is deeper than what we may come to think. While some missing dogs are lucky enough to be reunited with their owners, some aren’t so lucky.
For a Beagle mix named Bosco, he was one of the lucky ones. Despite taking his luck two years to reunite him with his owner, he is happy that it did happen during the time he needs his owner, Bill, the most. You see, Bosco is already a senior dog and needs the care and affection of his owner.
Bosco’s story started when he slipped off his leash roughly two years prior. Bill had tied Bosco in his backyard, but unknowingly, Bosco had slipped off the leash and ran away. When he realized he had lost his way back home, Bosco depended on his natural instincts to survive.
Bosco lived on the streets for two years. He had to scavenge food from the dumpsters in order to fill his hunger. Fortunately for Bosco, an animal lover named Sheilah Graham heard about a stray dog roaming the streets of Rhode Island and left a humane trap to catch him.
Bosco fell for the trap, and Sheilah eventually tracked down his owner, Bill. Unfortunately, by the time Bosco had been spotted and caught, Bill had already left the state and was already living more than 2,000 miles away in Colorado.
Sheilah called Bill and asked him if he was familiar with the voice in the background. To Bill’s surprise, it was his long lost dog, Bosco! Figuring out how to reunite Bosco and Bill had its challenges.
For one, Bosco was too old to fly to Colorado, and second, Bill was disabled. In a selfless act, Sheilah volunteered to drive Bosco 2,000 miles to Colorado. A kind gesture that Bill will forever be thankful for.
When Sheilah finally arrived at Bill’s place, Bosco and Bill are finally reunited. Bill is in tears as he never thought he would be able to see his long lost dog again.
