Usually, the world only recognizes champions in all their glory. No one talks about the struggles, hardships, and the courage it took to get to that champion seat.
This Rottweiler is proof that everyone starts as a rookie. Motsi, a baby Rottie, showed the world just that. He’s an example that shows that even champions go through a humble start.
Motsi was introduced to his very first swimming pool encounter, and he wasn’t too sure about it. The water probably felt strange and cold, and it’s not something a furball would want to be in.
Dad was patient with Motsi, though. He held the puppy above the water and then dunked him in. He did this repeatedly, quickly lifting the puppy after Motsi paddled furiously.
Although he was mostly paddling air, we could see those strong strokes at work when he hit the water. The puppy did look green for a bit there, but with his dad’s hands on him, he was okay.
Something tells us that this doggo is on his way to becoming one of the Rottweiler community’s strong swimmers. That furious paddling said so, and everyone knows it.
Never mind Motsi’s worried look once his paws touch the water. It’s normal for rookies to feel a little apprehension when doing things for the first time. What matters is, he powered through.
The real measure of a true champion is his courage in the face of fear. Motsi’s able to handle it, thanks to the help and support of his hooman. It demonstrates that a little bit of support goes a long way.
Here’s to more enjoyable experiences in the future, Motsi. Keep going, and you’ll see that you’ll have both the courage and the skills to take on bigger and bigger pools in the future.
Wait until you get to swim in the ocean, doggo. We guarantee you’ll love it!
