Luck happened just at the right time to rescue dog Mama Pickles. She was wandering the streets in September 2019 when animal control officers saw her. Upon seeing that she was most likely on the last term of her pregnancy, they picked her up and located her owners, who refused to get her back.
Thanks to the kind-hearted people who brought her to the rescue shelter. Mama Pickles ended up at Pit and Giggles Rescue, a non-profit organization that takes in and cares for preggy Pitbulls and Pitbull mixes and their pups.
They also help these pooches have a home, and they carefully match their personalities to their future human owners. Photographers do their part in helping them by taking their photos and posting them publicly in the hopes that their lives would turn around.
Mama Pickles has a very cheerful and playful disposition, which makes her the best choice for a maternity shoot. Lauren Casteen Sykes of Enchanted Hills Photography had a lot of laughter and fun taking her photos. She knew how to strike the right pose and face the camera.
Just a few days after the photoshoot, Mama Pickles gave birth to eight adorable puppies. During her labor, she was not like other doggies who want to be alone. Instead, she leaned towards people and wanted to put her head or sit on people’s laps.
After childbirth, this mother of eight rested for some time and then had another newborn photoshoot as a follow-up of the first shoot she had with Enchanted. This good mother deserved to be spoiled.
Pits and Giggles Rescue would like the photos to pose as a reminder to the public the importance of spay-neuter practices. Having too many pups leads to more uncared-for dogs, and we do not want that to happen.
