Rocco, a pit bull, had a rather sad life. Ever since he was still a puppy, Rocco did not have a permanent family to call. He would often be passed on from one household to another by his previous owners. The dog’s previous owners do not find the Rocco interesting. Eventually, the pooch was brought to a local animal shelter. The volunteers from the animal shelter said that the dog developed fear in interacting with people. The volunteers understood it well because of the dog’s background.
However, the volunteers likewise wanted to help the pooch find a new and loving home. After thinking of their plans, the volunteers posted a photo of the pooch on Facebook. In the caption, the volunteers narrated the dog’s story and asked people to help find a new home for Rocco.
Incidentally, Kelly Benzel saw the post, and she knew that she had to help the pooch. Kelly, in an interview, said that she has always wanted to have a dog. Due to her busy schedule, however, Kelly could not find a time to scour animal shelters to look for someone to adopt. According to Kelly, it could be a blessing in disguise that she saw the Facebook post instead.
She immediately inquired about the dog’s availability for adoption. When she heard that the dog was still up for adoption, Kelly did not waste her time. She processed all the needed documents and submitted the same to the animal shelter.
Kelly received a positive response and was given the dog’s custody. During the first meeting of Rocco and Wendy, the dog was a bit shy and nervous. But it was Wendy who took the first move. From there, the two became inseparable. Wendy was thankful for the opportunity given to her to help the beleaguered dog.
