When your pet goes missing, you do everything that you can to find them. But sadly, that is not the case for everyone. Some pet owners end up believing that they have lost their beloved dog. However, miracles can still happen.

Monica Mathis, a woman from Minnesota, lost her mixed-breed dog, Hazel, three years ago. Although they gave their best shot looking for the pup, they still couldn’t find her. It was hard for them to imagine where their pet dog could be and how she was doing.

They could only hope and pray that Hazel was doing okay and is well-loved by a new family. Until one day, Monica saw a post on Facebook that featured Hazel’s picture on one of the beer cans. It was a product of the Motorworks Brewing from Bradenton, Florida.

The brewery had an ongoing project that became viral. Motorworks featured pictures of adoptable dogs on the label of their beer cans to raise awareness about them. Some of the proceeds of this project would be directed to building a new animal shelter.

Monica knew in her heart that the dog in the picture was Hazel. She then contacted the Manatee County Animal Shelter in Florida to confirm if it was really her missing pet. And to her surprise, it was indeed Hazel, but the workers at the shelter called her Day Day.

The Manatee County Animal Shelter tried to look for the pup’s hooman when they first took her in, but the license and microchip on her were outdated. But as soon as Monica called them and verified that Day Day was actually Hazel, a reunion was planned.

Hans Wohlgefahrt, who works at the Manatee County Animal Shelter, went on a three-day drive with Hazel from Florida to Minnesota. The news made Monica very emotional. She couldn’t believe that she would still get reunited with Hazel after three years, who she raised since the pooch was still a puppy.

Hans was happy to spend this time to bid Hazel goodbye. After a 1600-mile road trip, Monica’s family welcomed Hazel back into their home. Thanks to the can of beer from Motorworks Brewing and the Manatee County Animal Shelter, Hazel was finally reunited with her family.
