We all know that saving money is very important. It helps us prepare for emergencies, and it also allows us to have the ability to invest in something that can make us more money. However, there comes a time in people’s lives that they simply need to follow their hearts and spend money on something that they’re passionate about.
Steven Prawl is known to be very frugal when it comes to spending. He’s known among his peers to be a penny pitcher and that he never spends more money than he needs to. However, something changed when Steve learned about an abused dog named Sunny, who was rescued and currently lived in a shelter in Nebraska, which was 1,600-miles away from where Steven lived.
Steven knew it in his heart that he needed to save Sunny. It meant that Steven needed to spend more or less $900 on a dog that he even barely knew. For most things, Steven would think twice before spending money. However, when Steven heard about Sunny, he didn’t even bat an eye and was willing to risk spending a lot of money.
When Steven saw Sunny’s picture, he felt that he needed to adopt Sunny and give him a forever home. Sunny eventually made it to his new home. Aside from getting adopted into a loving forever home, Sunny also became the mascot at Steven’s office.
When Steven was asked if Sunny was worth it, Steven says that he’ll gladly do it all over again and would even pay twice the amount to save Sunny’s life. Steven and his family may be very frugal, but Sunny is very special for them. Even before they met Sunny, all of Steven’s family felt that Sunny was already a part of them. Here’s a heartwarming video of how a very frugal man risked a lot of money to save a dog that he barely knew.
