Two-year-old Fergus, a mix of Great Dane and mastiff, has always been a gentle giant – but there’s one thing that he cannot give up and that is his dad’s chair. Though he would get a bit guilty every time he gets busted stealing his dad’s comfy spot, he remains seated until his dad loses their stand-off. After all, this extra large dog also needs a throne just like his dad.
And in a now-viral TikTok video uploaded by Fergus’ mom Melissa Love, we can see exactly how these Fergus versus dad stand-offs really go down.
The clip started with Fergus sitting upright and tight on his dad’s chair, once again stealing his spot. Seconds later, his dad showed up, walked down, and confronted him saying that Fergus knew he was sitting there before. His dad also added that he only just got up to pee and as proof, his phone sat right there on the chair. Fergus was allegedly sitting somewhere else and took his chance when his dad went away.
But Fergus didn’t budge and instead pawed the air as if telling his dad, or probably trying to convince him, that he was in fact sitting on the chair before he even did. Then to probably distract his dad from questioning him, Fergus even wagged his tail. He wasn’t going to actually allow himself to lose the argument. The chair was his.
Finally, his dad just gave in to him and walked over to the couch where he was greeted by their two other dogs who didn’t want to be part of the confrontation. The sweet dogs gave their dad lots of licks and kisses probably as a consolation for losing over their fur sibling. In the end, everyone was happy and that was all that really mattered.
