Christmas is one of the homiest seasons of the year when families get together and celebrate the joyous holidays around the tree. This is also the time of year when we meet the kindest hearts and the most affectionate people. This bus driver from Milwaukee is no different.
Jamie Grabowski was on her way to the garage at the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) after her rather uneventful day driving the MCTS bus. It was already almost midnight, so there were few people along her route at that time.
That was when she happened upon two wagging tails casually playing in the streets. When she got close enough, the two dogs playfully approached her bus.
Jamie was quick to invite the lost pooches inside her bus, thinking that they might encounter an accident if they stay too long in the streets. It was also pretty cold out as the December temperature already dropped to a freezing 20 degrees.
As she guided them up to her vehicle, she was already on the phone with the local police officers. She explained her situation and sent them her current location. The two dogs, on the other hand, felt at home on the bus and were happily wagging their tails around.
When Jamie finished with her conversation, she played with the pooches while they all waited for the authorities. After a couple of minutes, the staff from the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission came and retrieved the lost canines.
As it turns out, the pooches belong to a family roughly two miles away from where Jamie found them. The canines escaped their home and went on an adventure on their own. Their owners tried looking for them that same day but to no avail.
Thankfully, they were returned safe and sound. Thanks to Jamie, the pups didn’t have to spend the holidays out in the streets. It was a Christmas miracle indeed. Watch their story here.
