Dory is only eight and a half years old and still indeed a puppy. She loves every person she meets. One of the things in the world that she loves to do is playing with other dogs.
Dory’s dad, Ross Brickelmaier, said that she wants to play with humans and dogs. She sometimes gets confused when dogs don’t want to play.
Recently, Dory’s family moved. During the first weekend in their new house, they were hanging out in their backyard when suddenly they noticed a dog with his head trying to push through a hole in the fence. The dog clearly wanted to say, “hello.” When Dory noticed him, she was pleased to oblige.
According to Brickelmaier, when Dory learned that head was attached to a dog, she began looking for him whenever she went into the backyard.
The neighbor dog is named Tasso. Dorry and Tasso became fast friends. It didn’t take long for the two dogs to decide that playing through the fence wasn’t as enjoyable as it could be. So, Tasso managed to press himself under the fence and went over his new neighbor’s yard.
The two dogs were delighted that they were able to finally meet. They quickly started playing throughout the backyard. It was definitely their first real-life encounter.
Of course, since the two dogs’ parents hadn’t met yet, they didn’t allow the impromptu playdate to go on for so long. They soon escorted Tasso back to his own yard. At that moment, Dory and Tasso had decided already that they were best friends. They continued to greet each other through the backyard fence every time they get a chance.
Brickelmaier said Dory and Tasso went on flirting under the fence and passing toys underneath. Dory also learned to stick her head under the fence but realized afterward that she’s big enough to fit underneath.
Actually, Tasso’s parents never thought that Dory’s parents had been documenting their interactions. It was until they randomly saw a video on TikTok. However, luckily, they were amused by it. Because of Dory and Tasso’s friendship, their families have all since bonded and become fast friends like them.
Brickelmaier added that they agreed to get the dogs together for an official playdate. So, they took Dory over for drinks in the backyard. The dogs and their parents had a great time. And they decided to do it again soon.
Dory and Tasso’s love story started through a fence. Because of their willingness, they were also able to bring their families together and play all the time. Definitely, that seems to be a textbook definition of a happy ending.
