Dog Pretends To Collapse During Walks To Avoid Going Home

Whenever we get a chance to go on a vacation, we make sure not to waste every bit of it. Some of us even secretly hope for time to freeze so that we can appreciate that most-awaited rest a little longer.

It seems like the desire to make the most of our time isn’t only common to humans, but to dogs too. Ryder, for example, is a Labrador mix who came up with a gimmick to extend his stay at a dog park.

Sean Tornetta, Ryder’s owner, knows how the pup can be a little stubborn at times. “He’s smart. He knows what he wants, and he does everything in his power to get it,” says Sean.

Ryder, like every other average dog, enjoys his daily walk in the park. However, when it’s time to go home, he would act exhausted and collapse on the ground.

“We’ve been like this for quite some time now,” Sean added. “When we’re almost a block away from our house, he suddenly stops and pretends to faint. I know he’s in good shape. I see him run around the park for hours, so I know he’s just acting up.”

Sean admits that his dog’s annoying but hilarious pranks make him laugh. One day, he decided to take out his phone and capture a video of Ryder unleashing his dramatic antics. Sean continued doing this until he had enough to post online.

As expected, the video went viral as soon as he posted it. It now has more than 2.5 million views. A lot of people found it funny, and some of them even gave tips on how Sean can break Ryder’s lousy habit of resisting his commands.

In response to some of the comments, Sean said that food has always worked to convince Ryder into walking home. “Whenever I start to get treats out of my pocket, he suddenly stands up and gets one. It’s like nothing happened,” he mentioned.

It looks like there are other dogs like Ryder who think they can outsmart their owners! Watch the video below featuring another dog who “plays dead” so he could stay in the park for a few more minutes.
