At Logan High School in Utah, the track and field events draw so many spectators. This is because many students find this sport thrilling and exciting. But a doggie spectator took the limelight and refused to be a mere spectator.
The cute dog ran right under the barrier that separated the audience from the athletes. The dog did not mind the surroundings and sprinted at full speed past the runners.
The event was live, so the whole incident was recorded. Based on the footage, the dog was not only running to interfere with the event. Instead, the dog was running because he wanted to win. At first, the crowd was bewildered by the dog’s presence, but later on, cheered on him as the dog overtook the leading runner.
The runner that the dog overtook was also in awe after seeing the dog running past her. In an interview, Gracie Laney expressed her admiration for the dog because of how fast he runs. But the runner likewise shared her confusion upon seeing the dog.
Gracie mentioned that she thought it was another runner who went ahead of her. However, when the dog made it past her, it was clear to Gracie that it was not a fellow runner.
In the end, it was the dog who unofficially won the event, and Gracie seemed alright with it. For the athlete, sharing the track and field oval with the dog is a great experience. She added that it is not every day that you see a dog competing with humans in a sport like track and field.
After the event, the dog’s video went viral online. This was expected since the dog is so cute at what he does. Although the dog remains unnamed until now, netizens lauded him for his skills and determination.
