If you know anything about dogs, then you know that they are willing to give up their lives if it meant protecting their humans. There are countless videos online that prove this claim, and recently in Toronto, a ten-year-old girl’s life was saved because her pooch was ready to die for her. Fortunately, the brave little hero named Macy didn’t have to sacrifice her life.
Lily Kwan was walking her fur sister Macy around their neighborhood in Scarborough that fateful day when a coyote chased them! Residents in the area have been warned that there were coyotes spotted in the area, but young Lily never thought that she would ever run into one of them.
The young girl ran as fast as she could, with the little Yorkie in tow. However, it turns out that this hungry coyote was after the little pupper! Lily tried to pull Macy but, instead of running away, the fur baby was fighting back! The little girl had no choice but to let go of her leash because she also thought of her own safety.
In an interview, Lily admitted that she thought she was going to be next. But luckily for her, Macy was not going to let that happen. As the ten-year-old girl knocked on their neighbor’s door asking for help, the coyote seemed to turn its attention to Lily.
So Macy attacked the wild beast so that it would attack her, instead of Lily. And the brave doggo’s plan was successful! The coyote walked away from them and ran off to the woods.
Macy suffered several puncture wounds and had to undergo surgery. But after spending several days in the ICU, the six-year-old pupper was released and she’s now out of the woods. Watch the harrowing attack caught by security cameras in the news clip below.
