April Loew is an Arizona State Parks ranger who works at Lost Dutchman State Park. One day, when she went out of their ranger’s station, she was surprised to see a dog wobbling towards her. The mysterious pooch was visibly injured.
April wandered where the dog could have come from. The park was very remote, and there was no way he could have walked that far with his broken front legs. When the kind ranger tried to get close, the pooch was taken aback and started shivering.
He was scared and in pain.
Abandoned
Nevertheless, April took the dog to a vet to have him checked out. She told the doctor that the injured animal was probably abandoned by his owners and managed to painfully find help. They scanned him quickly for a microchip and found none. He also didn’t have any tags on him.
April got very emotional about the dog’s condition and said that she cried in disbelief. The dog, although frightened, was very sweet. How can anyone hurt him?
She couldn’t believe that anyone would be so heartless to abuse the dog and also to leave him helpless. If they didn’t want the dog they could have at least surrendered him to a shelter.
The right place at the right time
Fortunately for the dog, he found the perfect person to rescue her. April told the doctor to give the dog all the medical treatment he needs, and she will foot the bill. The dog, which was named Ranger, had to undergo surgery to set his bones. After that, he will need several months to recuperate.
April took the dog home and decided that she will be there for him and provide Ranger with everything that he needs. She will keep the dog if his original owners don’t show up to claim him. But even if they did, she would still question what happened to the sweet pup.
She wants to ensure that no harm ever comes to him again.
