Whenever we leave out pets alone in the house, we often worry about what they do or how they cope without having us around to play with them or comfort them. While most dogs do cope well whenever their owners leave, some dogs get anxious.
A rescue dog named Joule is one of those dogs who get nervous or anxious when their humans leave for work. When Brenna Eckert adopted Joule, she found that Joule suffered from anxiety and didn’t want to get left alone.
Whenever Brenna and her family are home, Joule would always want to be close to them. Joule’s human family even took her to work with an animal behaviorist to help her with her separation anxiety.
Joule was eventually able to cope, and she was less anxious than before. However, Brenna wanted to make sure that her dog is ok when they leave for work. Brenna and her family decided to set up a camera to record what Joule does at home when they’re away for work. When they viewed the recording for the first time, they were surprised at what they saw.
It turns out that Joule isn’t actually alone. Joule’s actually being comforted by their cat named Kelvin whenever the entire family’s away. In the first video, Joule was lying down on the couch when Kelvin jumped up and sat next to her. Brenna thought that it just might be a one-time thing, so she decided to record a week’s worth of videos.
It turns out that Kelvin would do the same thing every single day. Kelvin spent most of her time comforting the anxious dog. Kelvin would often give Joule cuddles and would even sometimes groom her. Joule found someone special to comfort her whenever she feels nervous.
Joule found a cat best friend who would always be there whenever she needs someone. Here’s an adorable video of how Kelvin, the cat, gives comfort to Joule, the dog. It’s an amazing friendship that will definitely melt your heart.
