A senior resident of Maryland was trapped in a hopeless situation when his two dogs acted promptly and helped in his rescue. The dogs were able to save their owner just in time.
The eighty-seven-year-old man was enjoying his time out with his two dogs at Potomac River near Brookmont Dam. The man was trying to retrieve sticks for his dogs to play fetch in a wooded area near the dam. He suddenly realized that he had got stuck in the mud up to his knees while trying to get the sticks.
The man tried to get himself out of the mud, but that made matters worse. The eighty-seven-year-old then decided to yell out loud for help. His two dogs sensed that their owner was in danger. They immediately ran to the towpath to find someone who could help their owner.
The dogs saw a cyclist coming their way, and they started barking at him to get his attention. The cyclist was then able to hear the call for help from afar by the owner of the dogs. He followed the voice and found the owner stuck in the mud.
The cyclist called the rescue service immediately and stayed at the spot until help arrived. The rescue team freed the man from the mud, where he had been stuck for around an hour.
Luckily the man did not sustain any injuries from the incident. The paramedics evaluated him and found him to be okay and good to go.
The dogs were able to act just in time and get help for their owner; otherwise, no one would have been able to help the man as he was stuck in a secluded place in the woods. The loyal pups truly saved the day.
