It is a good thing that dogs can be found in a variety of settings, including our homes, neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, and offices. And it has been surely demonstrated numerous times that these animals can assist people in overcoming obstacles in their lives.
Thousands of individuals have been helped by a dog from the United Kingdom who has helped them cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
A man named Kerry Irving is a fur dad to Max, a Springer Spaniel mix who worked as a therapy dog for him. Kerry worked as a locksmith before being involved in a car accident 15 years ago. His back was in agonizing discomfort as a result of the accident. He was in such much agony that it had a negative impact on his mental health.
As a result of his accident, Kerry became suicidal, sad, and anxious. He had been to numerous specialist hospitals and seen physiotherapists for the past six years to assist him cope with his mental distress. He even used prescription medications. Until Max came into his life, nothing had been able to help him.
Kerry’s perspective had shifted since Max had assisted him in recovering from his condition. Max was then dubbed as “The Miracle Dog” by Kerry.
The fur dad had decided to post on his Facebook page “Max Out in the Lake District” about how Max had helped him overcome his physical, mental, and psychological challenges. Kerry would do Facebook live broadcasts with Max’s two dog brothers, Paddy and Harry, to show their daily dose of walks in nature. He also published the book “Max the Miracle Dog: The Heart-warming Tale of a Life-saving Friendship” to encourage people to never really give up hope.
Kerry’s films of Max and his brothers went viral, much to Kerry’s surprise! The canines’ relaxing and cheery attitudes drew a lot of attention. Their Facebook page had a following of over 200,000 people. During the COVID-19 lockdown, they had truly assisted the people in finding serenity and pleasure.
Max’s social media fame had aided him in raising donations for the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PSDA). From his web effort, he was able to raise more than $350,000. PSDA honored Max with the Order of Merit for his commitment and hard work as a therapy dog.
